On Sunday, May 31, Good Shepherd had the pleasure of celebrating the ministry of our Intern Immanuel. Since joining us in September, his personality, wisdom and character have helped us grow to know God in new ways. One highlight of the summer at Good Shepherd are the Deacons' Picnics. They are a time to come together, kick back, eat some great food and have some fun. The Deacons host this gathering as we assemble in the Life Center for the meal and follow that up with plenty of games and laughter. Sunday, May 3 saw nine amazing young people affirm the faith into which they were baptized. They then are taking their First Communion on Sunday, May 10, a special Mother's Day treat. During the three years of Confirmation, they explored the Lord's Prayer, The Creeds, The Ten Commandments, the Bible and lots of other ways in which faith intersect with our daily life.
