Adult Ministry at Good Shepherd

There are a wide variety of opportunities for adults to gather together at Good Shepherd. Below are some ways you can connect with others who call Good Shepherd their church home.

Weekly Groups

Several groups meet at Good Shepherd on a weekly basis.  The Prayer Group, Bible Class, and Discussion Group meet on Tuesdays during the day while Prayer Partners and Discovering the Bible meet on Thursday evenings.  Please check the church calendar to see when these groups are meeting this month.

Monthly Groups

Many opportunities exist on a monthly basis for people to gather.  Theology Pub typically meets at a local restaurant on a Tuesday evening and is an opportunity to discuss the topic of the evening as well as deepen friendships with fellow participants.  Homeless Cooking meets one Tuesday morning a month and cooks meals that are then frozen and taken to a homeless shelter.  Good Shepherd's Over Fifty-Five ("OFF") Club meets once a month, typically on Wednesdays.  Check out the calendar for specific dates and times for these group gatherings.

Committees and Teams

Big Build

A great way to get involved at Good Shepherd is to join one of our committees or teams.  Our Adult Activities committee plans our Rally Day Luncheon in September, refreshments during our Christmas Choir Concert in December, and our Ash Wednesday Senior Luncheon.  Our Youth and Education Committee supports the youth and education programs at Good Shepherd and helps with a lot of our events, including the Trunk or Treat, LSSI Christmas gifts for Foster Children, and the Sunday School appreciation brunch in the spring.  Our Trustees oversee the maintenance of our building and grounds and are always looking for people who are able to help with projects around the building.  Our gardeners do an amazing job with landscaping of our property and always need help with planting, weeding, and watering.  Each of these groups offer opportunities to come together as a church family and get to know each other on a more personal level.  Many hands make for light work.  If you are interested in joining one of these groups, please contact us.

Other ways to get involved

Good Shepherd is a great place to discover or apply your gift, talent or passion. Please contact Pastor Buresh or a member of our church staff and we will help you use your God given gifts in meaningful ways to support God’s ministry and the wider community.
